Jonny Darling is an accredited member of The Association for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in Ireland, and is registered with the Irish Council for Psychotherapy. He holds a BComm., a HDip. in Psychotherapy, and an MSc. in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from UCD. He is clinically trained and certified by The School of Psychotherapy in St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin, and continues to work in cartel with the Irish School for Lacanian Psychoanalysis.
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is a peculiar form of talking treatment. What makes speaking to Jonny Darling so refreshing is the emphasis that he places on simply speaking, and the respect that he has for the space and time that people need to find their voice. Jonny treats adolescents and adults from all walks of life struggling with their situation and suffering in silence. Often they have tried to talk to somebody already, but the hurt, the sadness, the anger, the anxiety, demand more. As a professional listener, Jonny hears the demand differently and responds in kind. He takes what his clients are saying seriously and this experience of genuinely being heard is transformative.
